We leave something of ourselves behind, when we leave a place, we stay there even though we go away.. And there are things in us that we can find again, only by going back there. We travel to ourselves when we go to a place, where we have covered a stretch of our lives, no matter how brief it may have been. But by traveling to ourselves, we must confront our own loneliness. And isn’t it so that everything we do is done out of fear or loneliness? Isn’t that why we renounce all the things we regret at the end of our life?
No feeling is final, but each moment is.
Your life happens in a day. The only thing that really exists in a life is a day. If you aren’t present, you’re already half dead. There are no cumulative moments, there are only details, there are only days.
And we waste most of them.
Waste most of them buying clothes for another day, working toward goals that we never fully realize. Everything is a means to an elusive and untouchable end, everything is to make a plan for things that will inevitably be rocked off course anyway. We don’t schedule finding the loves of our lives. We don’t anticipate the day we’re going to die. We don’t know these things won’t happen tomorrow, or today, we just assume.
You won’t remember the days, you’ll remember a few moments within the days. The more you’re focused on a hypothetical someday, the more you’ll miss. The less of them you’ll end up with. The less you’ll realize you end with nothing, you just have what you have.
You decide how much that is by how present you choose to be. And yeah, you have a choice. Every second of every moment of every day of every month of every year of every life you choose. You’re choosing right now.
You don’t know that while you’re choosing to stare at your feet wondering and worrying about another issue that will fix itself in a little bit anyway, you’re missing the person who just crossed your literal (and metaphorical) path. You don’t know that this moment is your last moment. You don’t know that it’s not your mom’s or your dad’s or your best friend’s. You don’t know that this afternoon is the first time you make a tiny change that spirals into a revolution.
The point is that if you don’t do it today, you won’t do it ever. The point is that the things you most want can and should begin right now. Time does not change you, you change you. So long as your mindset is ‘wait for tomorrow,’ tomorrow will never come. Things do not get better or worse, your ability to perceive them a certain way does or doesn’t. Life does not change, you do, and as you do, you don’t just get ready for the inevitable, you bring it to light.
The point is that we are born in one day. We die in one day. We meet the loves of our lives in one day. Anything spectacular that’s going to happen is going to happen out of nowhere, unexpectedly, genuinely, perfectly, usually without your planning or messing it up. We get in our way more than anything else does.
All you really have are a succession of todays. Tomorrow is just an idea. It doesn’t exist.
I can’t sleep and I’ve realized I’ve been studying body language for too long, except my own. People are so fascinating, I want to capture all the people I meet in their special gesture.. You know that face a person makes that adds character, and even when you see it in other people you’re reminded of that other person.
(I get asked about this too much)
When people talk to me about the pictures I take of my “feet” I simply don’t know what to say, but I guess I’ve always wanted to capture a weird fleeting moment in which I was in a certain part of the world, standing somewhere I may or may probably never step on again, sharing company with someone or not.. It’s a moment I’ll never get back, and of course it means more to me than to the viewer, but this blog is kind of more for me than others, although I do like sharing things, I care little about criticism towards this blog, now I have another one which I will put work that I am proud of, but I’ll share that one in the future.
Otherwise, I want to talk about life, life on this earth. From one human to another, we are all on this earth, none of us really know what we are doing here, what we should be doing here. Just that we need to go about our lives in some way or another. Some lives seemingly ordinary, some seemingly extraordinary. All different, all important in some way to someone, all happening. At this very moment there are approximately 7.125 billion people LIVING. That’s enough people to know, in the least depressing way, that what you do on this earth will probably not have a huge impact on the course of the universe, on those 7.125 people living right now. The reason I put the word ‘probably’ is because the word probably has huge meaning in the past sentence. Regardless of what you want to do in this world, the way you want to live your life. Whether you want to dye your hair blonde, breakup with your other half, start up a company, run around the streets naked. The main thing we need to remember is that ALL that should matter in this world, regardless of religion, race, sexual preferences, sex, is that we are happy in the time we have here and we use that happiness. We use that feeling of liquid gold running through our cores as we smile and laugh, and share..
